plastic part design and engineering

Plastic part design and engineering

Triple-c ltd injection molding is a professional partner from the idea phase up to and including the production phase. Our parts’ design and engineering is a 4 steps process;

  1. Analysis of the project and set up of a requirements list
  2. Material choice and technology choice.: engineering consult
  3. 2D and 3d drawings and Computer Aided Design.
  4. Rapid prototyping

Set up a requirements list:

Based on your wishes, requirements and ideas, our engineering department can make the most optimal technical product designs. Our aim is always to come up with original and innovative engineering solutions, both at product, production and assembly level.

It all starts with a good engineering consult;

Which plastic is suitable for a your custom made product? What about the manufacturability or feasibility of your design, can it be injection molded?  Or is there an alternative? What are the requirements for the plastic product in the field of usage ( outdoor or indoor) safety and regulations?

These are questions that you can ask our engineering department. Thanks to our years of experience and production-technical insight into the injection molding of plastic products we can give our customers a suitable advice.

Create 2d or 3d cad drawings:

The engineering of a plastic product starts with a simple sketch , perhaps some 2d drawings and then a 3D drawing. this is a necessary step to create molds, prototypes . Once the  CAD drawings have been finished by our part designers, we will check these parts if they fit in the total product assembly.

Also a standard check of our plastic part design guides for injection molding wil be executed.

Test 3d models of your designed plastic products

After we finished the 3D drawing , we can easily and quickly develop prototypes: this is your proof of concept, a necessary step in the total product development phase.

For this we use CNC machined test models (3D prototypes) so that you can assess the products and actually test them.

Once you need more than one rapid prototype , eg 10-25 copies we recommend vacuum casting or siliconen molding.

When we have found the right solution together with you, we proceed to make the molds and follow the rest of the production process.

So even if you have only a sketch or your product idea or a product needs to be redesigned or reverse engineered , we can assist you in the following steps as described here above.
